Swiss Climate Action is a country-wide initiative engaging people from all walks of life to identify and implement the climate solutions that will be effective in Switzerland.
Solving the climate crisis is going to require the right combination of policy modifications, infrastructure transitions, and individual behavior shifts. Numerous approaches have been proposed but none have adequately engaged representatives from the entire Swiss ecosystem or identified what will work here. There also has not been enough focus on which combinations of solutions will ensure that Switzerland quickly shifts away from exceeding planetary boundaries and gets on track to meet its commitments under the Paris Agreement.
Swiss Climate Action: in Action
The mission of Swiss Climate Action is to amass and deploy resources and expertise to identify and execute science-based climate change solutions in Switzerland. Solutions that are developed with, acceptable to and approved by stakeholders in each sector as well as citizens.
Swiss Climate Action will initially focus efforts in two areas
Science & Research
Conducting research and establishing the scientific benchmarks for climate solutions specific for Switzerland.
Switzerland needs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions significantly to comply with the Paris Agreement. Here you can gain a better understanding of the current state and trajectory for Switzerland
Engagement Opportunities
Ensuring that citizens from all relevant demographics are represented and involved is fundamental.
